Would balm stain my clothing?
No, the balm doesn't color transfer when applied correcty and given the correct amount of time to cure. It's designed to chemically bond with the leather surface.
Are your recoloring products flammable or corrosive?
There are no solvents, flammable or corrosive materials present in any product except our leather prep and degalzer. For our deglazer, avoid conact with eyes and skin. Do not ingest any of our products.
How much do I need?

What is Clyde's 4-Step Process?
Our 4-Step Leather Recoloring Process is our easy and highly effective method for leather recoloring and repair. Our process is backed by years of trial and error, thousands of customer reviews, and feedback from dozens of professional leather workers.
The process consists of cleaning, absorbency testing, recoloring, and conditioning your leather.
Can colors be mixed?
Colors can be mixed to achieve any desired color. Please submit a contact form here, and we will help you pick the right colors.
Can I change the color of my leather?
Any color balm can recolor any color leather. I.e. a black leather surface can be recolored to light brown or white.
Please note: if going from a darker color to a lighter color, more coats of the balm will need to be applied.
How long does it take to cure?
Upon contact, our balm will begin to chemically bond with the surface of your leather. However, you must wait 24 hours after application to begin using your leather again. Once cured, you will need to seal the balm with our leather conditioning cream.
Does it work on vinyl or vegan leather?
Our leather balm works on vinyl and vegan leather. The application process is slightly different for vinyl, since vinyl is non-absorbent. You can simply skip the absorbency testing step for vinyl.
How to check my leather's absorbency?
Your leather must be absorbent before applying our leather recoloring balm. Here's how to check:
Place a few droplets of water on the surface of the leather, preferably somewhere that has no damage. If the water is absorbed into the leather, and the color of the leather surface darkens, this means your leather is absorbent. This means the manufacturer's original leather finish has worn off or was never applied.
If the water sits on top of the surface of the leather, this means your leather is non-absorbent. There’s nothing to worry; this is normal. This means that the manufacturer's leather finish is still coating your leather. You just need to strip the manufacturer's finish using Clyde's Leather Prep and Deglaze.

Yes, if there was a mistake made with your order, please contact us. As long as we have not shipped out your parcels yet, we can cancel your order or make adjustments as needed.
How do you ship parcels?
We ship via USPS to our customers in the United States. International orders are fulfilled with various couriers, depending on the destination location and current political and economic conditions.

When can I expect my order to arrive?
We are proud to offer incredibly fast 3 day shipping for expedited orders and 5-7 day shipping for standard orders. Shipping time does not including processing, which typically requires 1-2 days.
